(Eyeballed) RECIPE FOR FLATBREAD DORM-STYLE:

Ingredients...*
... flour
... water
... vegetable or olive oil
... salt
... pepper or other dried seasonings

Process...

  1. Mound some flour on a clean flat work space and create a well in the middle of it 
  2. Sprinkle salt and other seasoning(s) of choice evenly across the flour
  3. Add a little bit of water to the well, and mix in a bit of flour from the edge of the well so that the water starts to thicken
  4. Add a wee bit of the oil to the middle and mix in more flour
  5. Repeat steps #3 and #4 until the flour and liquid mixture can be rolled as a ball without sticking to your hand or crumbling into dust
  6. Knead this ball of dough for about 10 minutes until it is slightly elastic
  7. Leave the ball under plastic wrap or an overturned bowl to rest at least another 10 minutes
    1. In the meantime, preheat the oven to about 350°F (176°C)
  8. If need be, divide the dough into more manageable pieces to roll flat to about 1/8 in. (1/20 cm)
  9. Bake on a lightly oiled surface in the oven, about 5 min. per side**
  10. Finish each flatbread with a few seconds on direct high heat on each side (like on the coils of a stove top or a smoking hot pan)
